Question:
Are all Chihuahuas ferocious little ankle biters?
Margo Rita: No,
I can reach a little higher than the ankle. Actually Chihuahua's attitudes are a product of breeding
and environment. Care should be taken to select a good breeder. If the
breeders adult dogs are friendly, the offspring will likely be friendly too.
Question:
Does presence of a
molera (soft spot on top of the head) indicate
any medical problems?
Margo Rita:
No. There are probably as many Chihuahuas with
a molera as there are without and it is nothing to be concerned
about. A molera does not mean there is a problem. I have a molera and
I have never demonstrated a health problem
associated with it.
Question:
Is Margo Rita a Teacup Chihuahua?
Margo Rita: No
more than I am a Doberman Pinscher. A Chihuahua
is a Chihuahua and there are no teacup Chihuahuas! The
A.K.C. Breed Standard for Chihuahuas
divides the breed by two coat types; smooth coat and long coat and
sex, male and female.
The term teacup is also erroneously applied to very small Yorkshire
Terriers and Poodles. More Information
Question:
Are Chihuahuas good for anything?
Margo Rita: Of course, they are
good for many things, but the primary function of a companion dog is being a
companion. I have visited nursing homes and hospitals and I never fail
to bring a smile to someone's face.
